Richard has had hands on experience with a majority of the firms’ clients and has worked in the audit and accounting departments of the firm throughout his tenure at Whalen. His unique perspective allows him to serve as both a strong technical advisor as well as a trusted business consultant to a variety of businesses and industries. Richard leads the construction industry group for the firm as well.

Richard is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Construction Financial Management Association, American Subcontractors Association, the Worthington Estate Planning Council and is a board member of The Entrepreneurship Institute. Richard has served on a variety of committees through the OSCPA, has been published in the construction industry on tax issues and is a graduate of the OSCPA Leadership Institute.

As a husband and father of four, Richard spends his free time coaching soccer, boating, hunting and vacationing with his family.
