Whalen & Company, CPAs Expands Specialty Tax Services Department
Whalen & Company, CPAs is pleased to announce the addition of Steve Estelle to their growing team. He has joined the team as Senior Consultant, Specialty Tax Services.
Steve has over eleven years of experience assisting clients with the complexities of state and local tax law. He spent five years with the Ohio General Assembly drafting tax legislation and advising Members on Ohio’s tax laws. This experience is complimented by his time at a Big 4 accounting firm where he assisted clients with state and local tax issues across the nation.
In addition, he spent eight years as a consumer and commercial litigation attorney at the beginning of his career.
At Whalen & Company, CPAs, Steve will serve as a dedicated resource on state and local taxation (SALT) and international taxation. He will assist clients with identifying and pursuing tax reduction and refund opportunities and identifying and managing tax risks. Steve’s robust experience gives him a unique ability to stand in the shoes of his clients to help them solidify and achieve their goals.
The Specialty Tax Services Department is a recent expansion by the firm to their existing Tax Department. The new department currently focuses on SALT and international taxation, and additional areas of focus will be added this department as the firm continues to expand.

In his spare time, Steve enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
