Ohio Restaurant Owners – Are you paying too much sales tax on equipment?

Ohio restaurants don’t have to pay sales tax on things used for:

  • Food Preparation
  • Food Preservation
  • Food Equipment Cleaning

In addition, Ohio restaurants don’t have to pay sales tax on:

  • Certain décor items
  • Design Services – used for new and remodeled restaurants
  • CO2 for soft drinks

If the item is exempt, then also exempt are:

  • Installation
  • Freight and delivery charges
  • Warranties and service contracts
  • Repairs and parts
